eJPT or the ‘eLearnSecurity Junior Penetration Tester’ is a practical certification based on penetration testing in which you will be tasked to conduct a penetration test on some black boxes. In October I decided that it would be a good idea to try to get a certification so that I could test my skills and also add something onto my LinkedIn so I decided to browse for some relatively cheap certifications that would also help me in my desired career path. This research brought me to eJPT which looked like an ideal certification for my current situation. It took me 2 weeks to study for the eJPT, I already knew a lot of concepts that course went over however I thought it would be a good idea to solidify this information. The eJPT exam consists of 20 multiple choice questions and you are given 72 hours to complete these questions, in this exam you will be going in blind and you will have to gather information about all of these boxes which you will then use to answer the questions. This is a great format for an exam and its perfect as an introduction certification. In the end I was able to get 17/20 and completed the exam in 3 hours and 30 minutes , If I worked a bit longer I could of probably pushed that score up a bit but I knew that I would pass when submitting my findings. Overall I think eJPT is probably the best bang for your buck certification at the moment and the course with it gives you a great introduction to the cyber security field!
